PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE MARCH 2008
IT’S YOUR CHAMBER
In my past few columns I’ve encouraged you
to consider the Chamber a resource for your
business,
promoting the networking opportunities,
community and business expos, discounts on
goods and services
and all the information provided to the
membership. This myriad of benefits
available is due in large
part to the involvement of Chamber members
who volunteer to serve on committees or take
leadership
roles as officers and board members,
positions that will be opening up again this
spring. Would you like
to help direct the future of the Chamber?
Consider submitting your name as a potential
board member.
Would you like to be involved in one of the
many Chamber events? I welcome you to join
one of the
committees. Would you like to meet the new
members and welcome them to the Chamber?
There are
a couple of spots open in the ambassador
committee. Perhaps you have a new idea that
you’d like
the Chamber to consider? Bring it up to the
board---after all, that’s how many of our
current programs
began---and if you’re interested you can
even champion your project and put your own
committee
together as chairperson.
Why would you want to become involved? We
all have varied personal reasons but there
is one
very sound business reason: exposure. The additional visibility afforded
by these activities in
many cases directly results in more business
which, for many of us, is what attracted us
to the
Chamber in the first place. I’ll certainly
admit that my involvement as a board member,
running a
couple of programs and as Chamber president
has brought additional health insurance
sales to my
company. Interested? Give Laura a call at
the Chamber office and let her know.
After all, it is your Chamber.
Ronald Haines,
NHCOC President
